This study compares how Roman Catholic and Seventh-day Adventist theologies define the co-eternal relationship of the Son to the Father, a doctrine central to Christian faith and subject to revived anti-Trinitarian debates within Adventism. Employing a qualitative, comparative theological method, the research analyzes doctrinal statements, historical developments, and writings of key theologians from both traditions. Findings show that while both affirm Christ's full divinity and co-eternity with the Father, Catholic theology explains co-eternity through eternal generation and a timeless divine essence, whereas Adventist theology rejects eternal generation and interprets eternity as everlasting existence without beginning or end. These insights clarify misconceptions about Adventist Trinitarian theology, challenge claims of Catholic doctrinal borrowing, and contribute to ecumenical dialogue on the Godhead.
